ApplianceGuides is a static directory of free appliance manuals. We do not require an account, do not collect email addresses, and do not sell personal data. The site uses minimal analytics to understand which manuals are most useful, and contextual display advertising to fund hosting.
Standard server access logs (IP address, browser, referring page, request path, response code, timestamp) used for security monitoring and traffic analysis. Aggregate counts of manual views, search queries, and category visits used to improve indexing. We do not associate any of this with personal identity.
First-party: a session cookie used for the search bar's autocomplete cache (cleared when you close the browser). Third-party: Google AdSense or equivalent advertising networks may set cookies for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads at google.com/settings/ads and via the Network Advertising Initiative.
Manual PDFs are embedded from the Internet Archive (archive.org). When you view a manual page, your browser establishes a connection to archive.org to load the PDF viewer; their privacy policy applies to that connection. Display ads are served by third-party ad networks; their privacy policies apply to their tracking. We do not share our access logs with third parties.
Server access logs are retained for 30 days, then deleted. Aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely in non-identifiable form.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally no record to access, correct, or delete. If you believe a server log entry should be removed, contact us via the address on the about page.
ApplianceGuides is a documentation site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
If we change this policy in any material way, we'll update the date at the bottom of this page and post a notice on the homepage.
