ApplianceGuides is an independent directory of free home appliance manuals. We index documentation that already exists on the Internet Archive's public manuals collection and present it organized by brand, category, and model so it is findable through normal search. Every PDF is hosted by the Archive — we link and embed, we do not redistribute or paywall.
The manual catalog is built from the Internet Archive's manuals collection, queried through the Archive.org Advanced Search API. We pull metadata for documents tagged as appliances, washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, and HVAC equipment, then filter for entries that match a recognized appliance brand. Every document on the site corresponds to a real, public Archive.org identifier.
Brand and category classification is rule-based: titles and subject tags are matched against a dictionary of known appliance brands (Whirlpool, GE, LG, Samsung, Maytag, Kenmore, Frigidaire, Bosch, KitchenAid, Carrier, Trane, Rheem, Lennox, and dozens of others) and against keyword sets for each appliance category. Model numbers are extracted from titles when the manufacturer's naming convention permits it. Records that cannot be confidently mapped to a brand and category are excluded.
If you know the brand and model of your appliance, the fastest path is the search bar at the top of every page. If you only know the brand, the brands index lists every manufacturer we cover with links to model-level pages. If you only know the appliance type, the categories index sorts everything by washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, range, HVAC, and small appliance.
Every manual page embeds the PDF inline via the Internet Archive's viewer. You can read the full document without leaving the page, and there is a download link if you prefer a local copy.
ApplianceGuides is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the manufacturers whose manuals appear on the site. Manuals are the copyright of their respective manufacturers and are hosted by the Internet Archive under their public collection. ApplianceGuides links to and embeds those documents — we do not host the PDFs ourselves.
Service work on appliances often involves mains voltage, gas, water, refrigerant, or moving mechanical assemblies. Always disconnect the appropriate utility before opening a panel, follow the manufacturer's procedures exactly, and consult a licensed technician when you are unsure. The information in any document on this site supersedes general advice you might find elsewhere on the internet.
If you represent a manufacturer and would like a listing updated or removed, or if you've found a broken link or mislabeled document, email hello [at] applianceguides.example. Replace the obvious bracket with the symbol; the obfuscation cuts down on automated scraping.
